The African Parrots are a very nice group of birds, no matter how you look at it. None of the species are known to be overwhelmingly noisy, and all of them are suitable as apartment birds. The African Grey is known to be the best talker; in fact it is said to be the best talker of the bird world in whole.
Although the African Parrots can tend to be one person birds, and in particular the African Grey is, if they are socialized consistently when they are young this may not always be the case. Right from a young age, try not to be on a rigid time-table with them; being too consistent with routine will set them into strict habits which you will need to keep up with for life. Vary the toys in their cages right from the start, if necessary putting them down low in the cage then raising them up higher as they get used to them. Take them for walks, or a drive in the care, give them variety in life. If there is one thing that can be said about them it is that they are very intelligent birds and their personalities take some time to develop. As they mature they learn more, do more, say more, play more, in all they are a never-ending bag of tricks!
